Twin Covered Bridge, Vermont
When Built: 1850
Builders: Nichols Powers
Description: This bridge has had an interesting history but is currently in a sad state. It was one of two bridges built on side by side over East creek but was washed away in a flood in 1947 while its twin was destroyed. The flood was aggravated by a power company overextending a dam. The bridge was brought to its current position where it remains as a graffiti covered storage shed. The fact that it was constructed by a great historic builder Nichols Powers makes it’s current fate even sadder.
