Description: Steel stringers have been added to strengthen the structure and it carries vehicle traffic. The restoration completed in 2008 has the bridge in excellent condition.

East and West Paden Covered Bridges, Pennsylvania

East and West Paden Covered Bridges, Pennsylvania

When Built: (East) 1884, (West) (Original 1850) (Rebuilt 2008)

Builders: W.C. Pennington

Description: The bridges were bypassed in 1963 and turned over to Columbia County which created the Twin Bridges Park. They are not actually twins, as they are different lengths and the East Paden has a Queenpost truss while the West Paden has a Burr Arch truss system.

Builders: Not Known

Description: The structure received damage to its siding from a flood in 2006. It doesn’t seem to be receiving maintenance. It is apparently on the private property of two different landowners and in the past, there has been no agreement on the need for repairs.
