  1. Harold, these are amazing photos. I love the composition, the muted colors, the texture of the grass and the graceful birds! I yet have yet to see a Sandhill Crane. I loved Peter Mathiessen’s book “Birds of Heaven” about all the cranes in the world.

  2. I haven’t seen a Sandhill Crane either.I went to a couple of locations where they had been seen by others but missed out.

  3. Thanks Hilke,I feel very lucky to have them breed close by. I often take my morning cofee and drive by that area to see if they are about. Thanks for the reminder of that book, I have often thought to read it and I will make sure I do.

    For some reason this grassy marsh is very attractive to them, and the pastures nearby are a good source of insects.
