Montreal River Chasm: Ontario Waterfalls

The Montreal River has cut a deep gorge through to Lake Superior and it has been taken over for power generation. This photo doesn’t do it justice as it is a deep valley, and unfortunately was pretty well dry at the time. It is about 10-12 km. south of the Sand River exit on Highway 17, south of Wawa. Look for the bridge and the sign for the Montreal River and there are various places to pull off. This shot was taken from the bridge.

Warning: It can be dangerous to view and photograph waterfalls. The footing can be wet and slippery, and an accidental fall can result in serious injury or death. Note also that many sections of waterfalls are on private property. Please respect these rights.
