McGowan Falls: Ontario Waterfalls

Description

McGowan Falls is a small waterfall (about 8 ft drop) in the town of Durham, south of Owen Sound on Highway 6. To reach it turn west on Grey Rd. 6 off of Highway 6 and go about .6 mile (1 km.) to George St. Turn left and follow the road around a left turn to a small parking lot on the right. The falls are a short walk .

The falls have a walkway across the top which can make photographs difficult but it is a great place for a family visit. Photographers may find picking out small details can give some interesting compositions.

Warning: It can be dangerous to view and photograph waterfalls. The footing can be wet and slippery, and an accidental fall can result in serious injury or death. Note also that many sections of waterfalls are on private property. Please respect these rights.
