Humpback Covered Bridge, Virginia
When Built: 1835 or 1857
Builders: Not known
Description: 924 and stood derelict until it was restored in 1954 through the efforts of local organizations and now is a popular exhibit. The “World Guide to Covered Bridges” lists it as having been built in 1835 but most other sources list it as 1857 and suggest the 1835 date is related to an earlier uncovered bridge. A unique bridge with the humpbacked appearance from building the center 4 feet highers than the portals.
