Hanbye Abbey

The Hanbye Abbey was a medieval monastery built in the 12th and 13th centuries which housed Benedictine Monks. It was owned by the nation after the Revolution and was sold in 1790. Much of the buildings were dismantled and for a time the outer buildings were used as farm buildings. There has been some restoration but the church is still a ruin.
