Guápiles is an excellent place to stay if you are visiting Braulio Carrillo N.P. and it has some excellent Caribbean lowland birding.
You can expect to see Smooth-billed and Groove-billed Ani, Southern Rough-winged and Blue-and-white
Swallow, Ruddy Ground Dove, Yellow-bellied Elaenia, Tropical Kingbird, Social Flycatcher, Great Kiskadee, Flame-colored, Passerini’s and Blue-gray Tanager, and Variable Seadeater.
