Description: This is one of three covered bridges which span the Connecticut River between New Hampshire and Vermont. It replaced a covered bridge which was destroyed by fire in 1911.

Why people cover bridges?

It protects the wooden trusses (which were the expensive part of the bridge) from the weather.
