I am pleased to let you know that the New York’s Covered Bridges is now available in a print edition.

It was designed to be a Source book for Photographers and Explorers.

It contains descriptions to all of New York’s 25 Remaining Historic Covered Bridges, as well as multiple photos of each one, GPS Positions and written directions, and photo tips for each bridge. In addition it contains detailed directions for those who want to make Self Guided Tours.

A short history of Covered Bridges in North America and a review of the various Truss Types.

I have tried to keep the price reasonable and you can find on Amazon for for $12.99 New York Covered Bridges .

Description: Originally built in 1854, it was completely refurbished in 1998. It is the only New York Covered bridge with the Long Truss and Queenpost combination.

Blenheim Covered Bridge, New York (Washed Away)

This wonderful bridge was washed away by flooding caused by Hurricane Irene (August 28/ 2011). This is sad news about one of North America’s most magnificent structures.

Description: This is a magnificent structure, the world’s longest single span covered bridge at 228 feet. On top of that it is two lane. It has an interesting structure made up of Long Trusses with a Center Arch.

Description: Refurbished in 1998, this bridge looks sharp with barn red sides and white portals. It is just 3.5 miles from the Vermont border.

Builders:Peter Osterhauth, Charles Newman and James Roberts with Charles Ingalls (Sub-contractor)

Description:This is the only New York Covered Bridge which spans two counties (Washington and Rensselaer). It is a single span of 165 feet.
