located in the town of Caledonia, it was built about 1853 by James Little and called Little Mills at that time. At various times it has been called the Balmoral Mill and the Grand River Mill.

  1. This mill is in extreme danger of being pulled down due to decay from neglect and inept “protectors”. They have actually suggested removing the historic designation long enough to tear it down and then redesignate the pile of wood that’s left.

  2. As one of the former protectors, I can assure you this simply isn’t true. The building will be torn down (as it is a gigantic safety hazard as it is) but it will go back up as a faithful replica of the exterior, keeping as much of the interior character as possible.
