Cadillac Mountain, Acadia N.P., Maine

Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, is said to be the first place the sun touches the United States. It is the highest point on the eastern seacoast at 1528 feet.

It is a favorite spot for both sunrise and sunset, and there is a road right to the top. Dress warmly as it can be very cold, even in the height of summer.
