Bartonsville Covered Bridge, Vermont

When Built: 1870

Builders: Sanford Granger

Description: One of four covered bridges, found in Rockingham, Vermont, and one of the finest. The bridge was swept away and destroyed by floodwater caused by Hurricane Irene in August of 2011. It was re-built and re-opened in 2013.

  2. Unfortunately, this washed away yesterday during the Hurricane Irene flooding on Sunday, August 28th, 2011. Such a loss!

  3. Thanks Morgan: Very sad, it was a beautiful structure. There is a link to a video of its demise above. I don’t know if the community will re-build it.
