Along an Adirondack River

After spending a day full of the rain and snow of a Nor’easter in Vermont, we took a drive through the Adirondacks of northern New York State. Although the rain stopped, the moisture in the air gave a super saturated look to the colorful foliage. This scene was a few miles from Lake Placid, site of the 1960 Winter Olympics.

  3. I love the contrast between the static foliage and the moving water. The colors are beautifully saturated. Nice!!

  4. Thank you Hilke

It had been raining for a solid twenty four hours previous to this, and I think this can give a very saturated look to color.

    Thanks for commenting, Harold

  5. There are still some places around the globe that convey peace, relief from the ubiquitous everyday stress and quietness for the mind; they are the places where beauty lives, meaning places where deadlines, commitments and hustle seem to belong to another world. They are the places that make one know what life is actually about. – – Great pics !
