When Built: 1902

Builders: James M. Groninger

Description: This is the longest covered bridge surviving in Pennsylvania, and since it is in excellent condition, a prime site for bridge lovers. The county commissioned the building of this structure after a nearby covered bridge was damaged beyond repair by floods and ice jams in 1901. The bridge was in use until 1962 when it was replaced by a new bridge and was scheduled for demolition. It was saved through the efforts of the Juniata County Historical Society who were responsible for its restoration and continued maintenance.
