Crooked Slide: Ontario Waterfalls

Crooked Slide Panorama: Ontario Waterfalls

This is not a very interesting waterfall but the area around it adds to it. It has a Log Chute which you can have a close look at as well as a nearby beaver dam. It is also a great area for a family outing as well as a picnic. From Highway 62 North just past Comberemere, take a right turn onto Old Barry’s Bay road you will also see a sign for Crooked Slide Park.

Barber Mill: Ontario's Old Mills

Barber Mill: Ontario’s Old Mills

The Barber Mill was built in 1823 near present day Georgetown, Ontario. In 1854 it was purchased by the Barber brothers who converted it from a woolen mill to produce rag paper. The property has been deserted for some years, with plans for development seemingly on hold. I have seen images of the inside which are very interesting but would not now be possible without trespassing.

Located in the Crowe River Conservation Area, near the Town of Lake, The Gut is formed where the Crowe River drops through a narrow gorge. Quite impressive!
