The Muskoka River flows through the town of Port Sydney were there is a falls of the same name. It is easy to walk out onto the shelf of rocks by the falls for some photos.

The historic Plaque says:

“Town of Halton Hills

Beaumont Knitting Mill

Joseph Tweedle ran a saw mill on this site in the 1860’s. The present building was built circa 1872 by Richard Hurst and purchased in 1882 by Samual Beaumont. The structure operated as a knitting mill until 1972.”
